The form is a direct and symbolic representation of India's unifying patterns. It is constructed out of a six-faced Spiral loop. It constitutes three distinct loops intertwined visually, representing the unified fabric of India. Each module of the loop is made of a distinctly cut Square hollow section, representing India's diverse nature with its variety and differences.
But at the same time, the individual pieces are slotted onto the other distinct piece - so each piece rests on top of each other symbolically representing the unity and diversity of India. The varying sizes of the square sections are also a recall to the range of age groups that constitute the Indian Populus from young to old.
SELF SUPPORTING ARCHES.
The six lobes of the loops form arches at the junction where each lobe joins with the other. It has arches at two levels intertwined with each other. The arches are also a primordial elements of architecture that has its roots strong in the art of placemaking. Each side of the six face arch is cantilevered into the middle also self-supported by the adjoining loop which again is a symbolic representation of our unity during desperate times of need.
FABRICATION:
The structure is fabricated sing 250X250 SQUARE SECTION. It is cut at ranges from 100cm to 490cms which are then stacked on top of each other. The stacking is enabled by grooves that are cut onto the section at precise angles so that the rotation of the sections is also achieved.
