Santhosh Narayanan is currently an M.S. Advanced Architectural Design student at Columbia University's GSAPP, where he received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship for 2024. Originally from Mumbai, India, he graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, achieving a top university ranking with distinction and earning several awards in architecture competitions.

His professional journey began at Sameep Padora and Associates in Mumbai, where he worked for three years and advanced to the role of Project Architect. During this time, he managed a variety of projects across different scales, including a large-scale aviary, cultural institutions, residential projects, pavilions, and an international 3D-printed affordable housing competition.

With hands-on experience across all phases of the design and construction process—from Pre-Design, Schematic Design, and Design Development to Construction Documentation, Contract Administration, and Post-Occupancy—Santhosh is passionate about the intersection of architecture, pedagogy, and practice, particularly in public and civic projects. His interest in geopolitics has also fueled a curiosity about how global trade practices, policies, and sanctions influence and shape civic projects, especially within large architectural firms.

He has a particular interest in architectural history & theory, which led him to do studies on architecture history from the onset of modernism, eventually gravitating to do a curatorial study on the work of Rem Koolhaas. His explorations are on the emerging infrastructural/logistical regimes and how they relate with ecological logic, He believes that architecture is the mirror that reflects humanity as a built environment puts the work of an architect at a critical juncture to both observe the zeitgeist, project new realities that manifest itself on the real world.
